Ruby Robinson is a distinguished jazz vocalist whose opulent style and captivating tone have made her one of the rising stars of the UK’s jazz live music scene. Based between London and Essex, Ruby has spent over a decade gracing stages with her performances which include many of London’s most prestigious venues including headlining the Ruby Sings Showcase Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s, Café de Paris, Nightjar Speakeasy’s,

Daisy Green’s Larry’s, and Le QuecumBar, as well as delivering sold-out shows at the Crazy Coqs, Piccadilly (2021 & 2024) and

The Pheasantry Jazz Club, Chelsea (2020 & 2021).

 

Having grown up surrounded by jazz, swing, and big band music, Ruby began her professional journey at just sixteen as lead vocalist for The Melvin Beddow Big Band, before joining The Glenn Miller Story UK Tour as both a lead and ensemble singer. Since then, she has performed across the UK and internationally with various Big Bands and Jazz Ensembles appearing at Royal Horticultural Society Festivals, stages of HQ and Ambassador Theatres, and Swing 46 Jazz and Supper Club in New York City, while also collaborating with renowned brands such as John Lewis and Collectif London. Ruby has also featured as a guest vocalist for The Big Band Blitz 1940’s Gala, showcased on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

 

Influenced by the great jazz divas and bandleaders of the golden era, Ruby is known for her warm, expressive voice, dynamic stage presence and flair, her emotional ability within her storytelling, and her excellent stylistic technique. With a repertoire inspired by over 100 years of music, her passion and interpretation for the Great American Songbook bring a traditional and finessed yet refreshing and timeless approach to audiences, simply transporting them back in time!

 

As she continues to make her mark as one of the UK’s most exciting jazz performers, Ruby is currently preparing new music with her quintet and expanding her calendar of live performances across the UK and beyond.
