Last night was one of those beautiful, unexpected moments that remind me exactly why I do what I do.
We received a last-minute call to step in at Annie’s Jazz, Southend to cover for the Jazz Dynamos. Even though I wasn’t feeling my best (the flu has really been making its rounds!), I knew we had to give the audience the night they deserved — and wow… it became something truly special.
From the moment we stepped on stage, the room felt electric. The venue was PACKED, the crowd was warm and responsive, and the atmosphere was full of festive excitement. I’m genuinely overwhelmed by the wonderful feedback — it was a night full of music, magic and connection.
⭐ A Huge Thank You to the Band
Graham, Alex, Ben and Steve — stepping in with just a few hours’ notice and delivering such incredible musicianship is no small feat. I am so grateful and so lucky to share the stage with such talented, generous players.
⭐ Thank You to Everyone Who Came
Despite the last-minute change, so many of you turned up to support live jazz in Southend, and it means the world. Your presence and energy made the entire evening unforgettable.
I’m heading into a busy December full of festive gigs, private events, and my daily Ruby Robinson’s Christmas Countdown, but I’ll carry last night’s joy with me for a long time.
Feeling grateful, inspired, and full of love for this incredible job.
Here’s to more music, more magic, and more unexpected moments like this.
With love,
R 💋
